I am trying to reduce the risk on the second trade, perhaps lowering the stop loss on the first trade so that the second trade has smaller lots.

Another idea is to add more hedge

if 1st trade BUY = if floating loss opens 2nd trade SELL if 2nd trade opens floating loss
3rd trade BUY
if 3rd trade is open floating loss 4th trade SELL
